Alaska Black Bear Hunting Tips

• Be Patient: Patience is the key to getting an excellent bear. There are many bears on the island, so you can afford to wait for just the right one. Getting a trophy class bear is always a possibility.
• Be Selective: Patience and selectivity can produce terrific results. Hunters that understand the characteristics of a prime bear stand a better chance of bagging a trophy.
• Enjoy the Adventure: The greater your adventure, the more memories you will make, take home with you, and share. Bear hunters at Calder Mountain Lodge have the flexibility to design a custom trip just the way they want it. Hunters find themselves surrounded by prime fishing spots, and can add to their adventure by landing halibut or hard-fighting salmon. By scheduling their bear hunt in May, you can take advantage of the fishing as well as bagging a great bear.
